Following the highly acclaimed launch of the mid-cockpit yacht Saare 41 (test in YACHT 23/2008) and the expansion of the range with the aft-cockpit boat Saare 38 (test in YACHT 19/2011), the Estonian shipyard Saare Yachts is now looking to broaden its range even further. The next project being worked on is an aft cockpit version for the large Saare 41. In contrast to the Saare 38, it is intended to fulfil the frequently expressed customer request for a third, fully-fledged cabin.
The plans of designer Karl-Johan Stråhlmann are now finalised and the first Saare 41 with aft cockpit is already under construction. This yacht will be used by dealer Thomas Nielsen (Yachtsport Eckernförde) at various regattas on the Baltic Sea in the coming season to show that a solid cruising yacht can also be sailed fast. The Saare 41 in the new aft cockpit version will weigh 9.9 tonnes with a ballast content of 37 percent, making it around 600 kilograms lighter than the same boat with a centre cockpit.
The new Saare 41 AC offers a wide range of variants and a high degree of customisation below deck. There are a total of five basic layouts to choose from. Two or three cabins can be combined with the option of one or two bathrooms, each with a separate shower compartment.
The large U-shaped galley offers plenty of storage space and large work surfaces as well as a classic chart table, arranged in the direction of travel, for all versions. In addition, the toilet is always arranged lengthways and the bathrooms have a large, separable shower compartment with sufficient headroom.
The basic price for the standard version of the Saare 41 AC is 327,600 euros. This price already includes a full teak deck, AGM batteries and a diesel heater, among other things.
